Aurélie Lanoiselée expresses her unique skill through embroidery, embellishment, and textile transformation. Since opening her studio in 2002, she has combined traditional techniques such as hand embroidery and Lunéville crochet with experimental methods of fabric enhancement. Dyeing, coating, and layering allow her to reshape the appearance and structure of materials. She regularly reuses threads and components, breathing new life into overlooked elements and expanding their narrative potential.
Her three-dimensional approach allows her to work across surfaces and volumes on any perforable base. By extending embroidery beyond its conventional contexts, she blurs the lines between fine art, decorative arts, and craft. From unique pieces to small series, her savoir-faire is applied across haute couture, interior decoration, design, and collaborative textile environments.
Alongside these commissions, she develops a personal body of work that includes sculptural objects rooted in sensitive and precise craft. Museum exhibitions and artistic collaborations have further established her studio’s distinctive position.
She is the recipient of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation’s Talent d’exception, the Grand Prix de la création de la Ville de Paris, and the Artisanat et Innovation award from the EY Foundation. She has been a member of Grands Ateliers de France since 2022 and was a resident at Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto.
