Grond Studio transforms raw earth into surfaces, furniture, and objects, merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Founded in Brussels in 2020 by Pieter Van Bruyssel, the studio reclaims earth as a vital and sustainable material for architecture.

Originally trained in photography, Pieter discovered the architectural potential of earth during extensive travels and later pursued formal training in Vorarlberg, Austria. His practice evolved through national and international projects before founding Grond Studio to focus on precision, beauty, and material responsibility.

The studio’s work challenges how we use and value natural resources. By adapting ancient building techniques to modern contexts, Grond Studio proposes new forms of ecological engagement. Their approach is research-driven, collaborative, and always rooted in experimentation.
