Hell's Kitchen

Hell’s Kitchen was conceived as a living installation inside the monumental Grand Hall of Zaventem Ateliers. For this project, the Ateliers designed and built a complete scenography, transforming the raw industrial space into a stage where food, fire and design converged.

Throughout the event, renowned chefs such as Willem Hiele were invited to cook over open flames at the heart of the hall. Their craft unfolded in real time, surrounded by objects and settings created by the residents of Zaventem Ateliers. Every detail, from the architecture of the fire pits to the bespoke tools and tables, was imagined and fabricated on site.

Hell’s Kitchen was not only about gastronomy. It was about dialogue, between chef and artisan, between ephemeral taste and enduring material, between the immediacy of fire and the permanence of design. It offered visitors an immersive encounter with the essence of Zaventem Ateliers, a place where disciplines merge and new forms of collective creation are forged.
