Cédric Van Parys works at the intersection of sculpture, research, and space. His practice dissects the relationship between monuments, symbols, and collective memory. Through his artworks, he explores the aesthetics of power and the cultural weight of sacred spaces, questioning traditional ideas of culture, nature, nationalism, and ritual. By deconstructing and reassembling historical references, his work challenges the narratives embedded in material culture and invites a reevaluation of how we engage with symbols of the past and present.

His work has been exhibited internationally in institutions, galleries, and universities across the United States, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Italy, and China. He was the 2023–2024 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellow at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Van Parys is also the founder of Office CCXD, a collaborative spatial design studio focused on exhibition design, scenography, and architectural concepts. The studio acts as a creative partner to institutions, corporations, galleries, architects, artists, and curators, offering services from spatial and graphic design to publications and project management
