Loumi Le Floc’h is a material designer exploring new possibilities with bio-based surfaces. Her ongoing research project, Precious Peels, transforms aubergine skin into translucent materials that sit between paper and textile. These unique compositions can be integrated into architectural glass, used as wall coverings, or shaped into objects, merging delicacy with durability.
Born in the south of France and trained at La Cambre in Brussels and Weissensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin, Loumi works at the intersection of ancestral techniques and contemporary innovation. Now based at Zaventem Ateliers, she continues to develop her sensorial, sustainable approach to design, where color, light, and texture are drawn from the material intelligence of plants.
